In Korean history the first birthday was often times not reached because of the high infant mortality rate and to this day the tradition remains the first birthday is a big celebration. As you can see on Honor he is wearing a traditional first birthday outfit given as a birthday gift from The Paynes. She is the beautiful Korean lady feeding Honor. Her hubby is the older American gentleman holding Honor. As tired as Honor was he was pretty pleasant, but who wouldn't when everyone wants to hold him and give him lots of hugs and kisses. On top of it all he gets to eat cake and icecream. As you can see there is a picture of a handprint in the cake. That's Honor's handprint if I may add. I was trying to give him the cake knife so he can cut his Bday cake, but appartantly he had other plans. It was not a big bash but it was great having friends come out to support us in Honor's big day. We all had a great time eating and conversating. We also found out that Honor LOVES balloons too.
